What is UWB?
UWB (Ultra-Wideband) is a wireless technology that works very differently from Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, sending radio waves in "short pulses". It works just like a radar.
Key Capability: Precise Positioning
UWB measures the round-trip time (Time of Flight) of the signal so precisely that it can locate a forklift or personnel in a factory with centimeter-level accuracy (e.g., ±10 cm). With Bluetooth, this error can be several meters.
- Safety: When a forklift gets too close to a pedestrian, the UWB system detects this and automatically slows down the vehicle.
- Follow-Me Robots: Enables a transport robot to automatically follow the operator.
In industrial safety and traceability applications, UWB is positioned as the standard of the future.
